Always check your tags, kids.

ESPN commentator Stephen A. Smith isn’t one to shy away from letting a take rip. Smith decided to pile on to the Suns’ embarrassing Game 7 loss to the Mavericks by roasting “no-show” Suns guard Devin Booker in a one-off tweet on Monday:

Smith tweeted: “I have never been more wrong. I can’t believe how great the @dallasmavs look — and how pathetically awful the @Suns look. @CP3 & @DevinBooker31 have been no-shows. I can’t believe this.”

His opinion is fine, with one small exception: Smith tagged the wrong Devin Booker in the tweet, instead singling out European basketball player Devin Booker, who currently hoops for Fenerbahçe of the Turkish Basketball Super League.

Booker — the one in Turkey — noted the tweet and had a hilarious response:

“I didn’t know I was supposed to show up. I had a game in Istanbul the same day. I’ll be ready next time,” Booker tweeted.

For those curious: Fenerbahçe beat Bursasport 100-87 in Basketbol Süper Ligi action yesterday, advancing to the semi-final tomorrow.

The Suns will not be advancing after being downed by the Mavericks 123-90, with the result being a lot more one-sided than the score indicates. That should tell you something.

Hey, at least one Devin Booker went home on Sunday a winner.
